Did you forget your Vuse charger at home and now you're running out of battery? Oh no! Unfortunately, charging your vape or e-cig with anything other than a Vuse charger may result in damaging your Vuse, injury, or worse. But luckily, Vuse chargers are almost too easy to find in any store. Even the gas station around the corner should have a few in stock! This wikiHow article teaches you why you shouldn't charge a Vuse without the correct charger. We'll also show you a workaround for cutting any USB charger, although we definitely don't recommend doing this.
Things You Should Know
- Charging a Vuse without a charger may cause your battery to explode. There are many cases where this has happened, so you shouldn't try it.
- Get a new charger from any store. Any retailer, like a gas station, will have a charger for your vape.
- Many vapes have micro-USB ports, so you can technically use your Android's micro-USB charger to charge your vape.

The battery may explode if you cut the wires in another USB charger. If you decide to modify another type of USB charger to charge your Vuse, your e-cig could explode. If the Vuse happens to be in your hands while it's charging with cut wires and explodes, you may end up losing your fingers, a hand, or worse.[1]
- An explosion, if not in your hands, can set the surrounding environment on fire.[2]
2
You could ruin your Vuse if you try to modify a charger. Aside from personal injury, your Vuse may also be unusable if it explodes.[3]

Split open the charger and expose its inner wires. If you're willing to risk your battery exploding, you'll need a USB charging cable. The charger should have a regular USB end on one side, and a micro-USB end (like what you'd use on an Android) on the other. You'll need to start by exposing the wires inside the charger:
- First, make sure your charger isn't connected to a power source, or you could be electrocuted.
- Slice off the micro-USB end (it's the end of the cable that you usually plug into your phone). The other end will be plugged into a wall or power source later, so make sure you only slice one end of the cable!
- Cut into the cable near the micro-USB end, being careful not to slice into the cables embedded in the cord. Peel back the coating to reveal two wires – red and black.
2
Connect the USB end to a power source, and the exposed wires to your Use the red and black wires ONLY. If the charger you cut open doesn't have those wires, try a different cable.
- Insert the red and black wires into the bottom of your Vuse's charging port. If you're looking at the back of your Vuse, insert the red wire into the middle hole and the black wire into the left hole.
- You can use any power source to connect with your USB cable, such as a power block or your computer.
- The light should turn green on your Vuse if it's charging.
- Don't touch the tips of those exposed wires when the cable is plugged in or you will get shocked.
3
Stop charging if you feel the Vuse getting hot. Disconnect the charger immediately if the Vuse heats up. This can prevent the battery from exploding.
